When a kitchen was rebuilt around one appliance, the cabinetry usually left that appliance no air. A built-in refrigerator with a condenser sealed into a cut-to-fit surround reads as a failing compressor and turns out to be a clearance problem, so the grille comes off and the airflow gets measured before gauges come anywhere near it. Where the surround is genuinely the fault we say that, because it is a joinery job and not a repair.

Broil worked but bake did not, in the top cavity only. He tested element and relay separately rather than replacing both, found the relay, and the bill reflected the one part.

Two other companies told me the compressor was finished and to replace the whole unit. He tested it properly, showed me the readings, and the fault was a start relay. Still running fine.
